On The
Journey... October 26, 2007 I believe there are three things every person must reconcile in their life – their identity, their focus, and their motivation. As a Christ-follower, having a healthy dependence on God, and knowing you are already accepted by the One who matters most, means you don’t have to strive for the acceptance the world pushes. And this acceptance can radically change your thinking. Knowing how God has gifted you and knowing what He has called you to do with those gifts means that whatever season of life you’re in, you can go after that calling with laser focus. Understanding your motive for what you do and seeking only the applause of God means not getting caught up in approval addiction or fear of rejection from others. Knowing who you are, knowing what you want to accomplish, knowing you’re doing it for the right reasons is key, because God examines it all and will give to you whatever praise is due by the end of season. At Journey 2L2, we have a “Project of the Week.” Each week, there is an opportunity to help someone else because we believe in the seriousness of the message Christ gave to every human being – to love Him and to love others. When your motives are right, that’s when the adventure really begins! As we approach the runway for our Journey Home 3 project, having the right altitude and the right motivation can change the project from being a lot of hard work to being the biggest blessing you have ever experienced. I am so looking forward to experiencing this with you. Enjoying the Journey, Bob |
